JENI’S SPLENDID ICE CREAMS in the Central West End is fully committed to sustainability, using only grass-fed dairy cows that graze less than 200 miles from their manufacturing facility and Fair Trade certified chocolate to ensure the ethical treatment of cocoa farmers and environmental stewardship of the land used to grow their products. The Slow Food approved ice creamery sources fruit locally for their ice creams and vegan sorbets.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream has reduced its waste footprint by providing tiny metal tasting spoons, reducing the amount of single-use plastic in their shop. Their disposable spoons are made from compostable material, avoiding plastics made from fossil fuels.  The St. Louis location was the very first location in their company to try this innovation – now all of their shops have adopted this practice.
