THE GRAMOPHONE, a unique sandwich shop and tavern located in The Grove, provides a comfortable, friendly place to eat, drink, and play arcade games. Furniture crafted from driftwood graces the interior and exterior, which boasts arcade games in the corners, comfortable booths, and tall tables to enjoy a beer with your toasted sandwich, slider, or wrap.

The Gramophone provides the option to make their sandwiches ½-sized, which dramatically reduces food waste – a serious problem in America, where over 40% of food is wasted each year, causing 18% of methane emissions from our landfills. They make their own condiments in-house, reducing packaging waste and ensuring their products are always fresh.

Local beers are showcased at The Gramophone, with 20 local beers on draft and 18 local bottles and cans, including Urban Chestnut, 4 Hands, Schlafly, and more. Their bread comes from Fazio’s, and they use local pasture-raised meats for their house-made meatballs. They source many of the veggies and fruits for their infused liquors from City Greens, a non-profit grocery shop, located across the street.

The Gramophone is a participant in GiftAMeal, a program that markets restaurants while feeding the hungry in St. Louis. On the GiftAMeal app, each time someone takes a photo at a partner restaurant, a meal is provided to someone in need through Operation Food Search.

With a kitchen open until 2:30 AM, The Gramophone is the best choice for sustainable sandwiches after a night on the town. Check out their digs next time you’re in The Grove!
