Baileys’ Chocolate Bar, located in beautiful Lafayette Square, is one of St. Louis’s most sustainable date spots. The chocolate bar features gorgeous chocolate deserts sourced from Fair Trade suppliers, signature chocolate martinis, and small nosh plates. They have plenty of local beer , wine, and spirits, if chocolate martinis aren’t your thing.

Baileys’ Chocolate Bar uses Energy Star rated equipment and LED light bulbs to minimize their energy use, tiny glasses to minimize customer’s water waste, and environmentally responsible cleaning products to minimize their chemical use! Food waste is avoided by offering small plates, using “ugly food,” and pickling whatever they can – including cores of pineapples.

The group of Baileys’ restaurants use their purchasing power to encourage large distributers and vendors to supply more sustainable products, moving the needle and making sustainable products available to restaurants all over the region. Their multiple restaurants make re-purposing and salvaging décor easy – the restaurants trade and share chairs, tables, and stylish accents, which saves money while reducing consumption of new goods (which use a lot of energy, water, and other resources to create).

Check out this beautiful spot with someone special and try their locally-focused small plates, delicious desserts (including several decadent #vegan options), and clever cocktails.
