Madrina, located in the heart of Webster Groves, Missouri, is a beautiful new addition to the Green Dining Alliance. This Italian-American restaurant, located in the space that previously housed CJ Muggs, is co-owned by couples and longtime friends Frank Romano & Laura Burns (of The Parkmoor) and Stanley & Arlene Browne (of Robust Wine Bar). Madrina (“godmother” in Italian) is aptly named and inspired by Romano’s own godmother.

Madrina offers a contemporary take on mid-century dining with a focus on farm-to-table, hand-crafted dishes. The warm, inviting atmosphere—complete with lush velvety drapes, dark wood tones, and deep red upholstery—sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. Food sourcing is excellent, with local beef, chicken, handmade pastas, and a focus on traditional, nose-to-tail zero waste cooking. Any vegetable trims are turned into a soups for the staff. Food is treated with respect and there is very little waste.

With an award-winning beverage program and a menu featuring classic Italian-American fare, Madrina honors the authentic flavors and hospitality of family-style dining, making it the newest 5-star addition to the blooming Green Dining District in Webster.
