Urban Chestnut has always wanted to explore new flavors, but hasn’t had the capacity to make the small batches this process requires. This is why they’ve decided to open The Urban Research Brewery, or “U.R.B.,” capable of making “very small batches of experimental beer” in The Grove, right across the street from their LEED Silver Certified building and brewery. The U.R.B. will serve duel purposes as both a consumer research center and a bar, where patrons will be able to give feedback on the brews through their devices.
Feedback from the public is the main objective of this research brewery. To facilitate this, the brewery will be offering test flights of four two-ounce samples for $1 – so long as tasters provide reviews of the beer through Urban Chestnut’s digital platform.
The spot will be a meeting place for beer-lovers to gather and discuss their favorite topic. The most popular beers taste-tested by the public will be possible candidates to add to Urban Chestnut’s regular portfolio. As if helping your favorite brewery analyze its beer wasn’t a tempting enough reason to visit U.R.B., the bar and research facility will be selling pizza by the slice. Pizza and beer is a combination that requires no further study to gauge its compatibility.
The U.R.B. is planning to open after their licencing is squared away, sometime later this spring.
