After much wait, the GDA Finder App has launched!
The GDA Finder App was a project started last year during Global Hack’s Code for a Cause event where developers volunteer their time with nonprofits to help them create a digital platform (website, mobile, app, etc) for their organization. We went to the event with the intent to create an app where supporters of the Green Dining Alliance can find restaurants near them, learn about their offerings and their practice in sustainability all from their mobile device. After the weekend long session, the amazing team who worked with us decided to continue volunteering their time until the app was completed. Without the help of Drew McDonald, Tyler Renfro, and Jason Hatton, we wouldn’t have finished this project and we are forever grateful for their work.
The GDA Finder App is available on the App Store (iOS)
After over a year of work from the amazing developer team and earthday365 staff, we have finally finished, tested and released the GDA Finder App. With all of that said, the GDA Finder App will be available starting this weekend to help kick-off earthday365’s Virtual Earth Day Festival. It is only available on iOS (iPhones/iPads). Make sure to download the app this weekend and continue supporting the Green Dining Alliance and our members.
Remember, during this moment in time, many Green Dining Alliance restaurants have decided to close until further notice and others have adjusted their service options. Check out our previous blog post to find a list of all GDA members and their status during this time.
