A Multitude of Choices: The GDA Hits 100!

There are infinite choices for diners in Saint Louis – discerning what restaurant to visit can be a challenge. Luckily the GDA is here to help!

The Green Dining Alliance has worked since 2013 to help restaurants implement recycling, get rid of Styrofoam, try to source locally, and reduce consumption of energy and water through targeted strategies. 2012 ended with 4 restaurants, 2013 ended with 9, 2014 ended with 39, 2015 ended with 64 – as of mid-June, we are now at 101 restaurants! It’s never been easier to find restaurants that are working to reduce their impact.

Use our website to browse our restaurant list and our map, or search keywords like “vegan,” “ice cream,” and “patio” to find the right food right now.

We’re proud of our members and the work they’ve done to reach their goals. Going green isn’t always easy. Some environmentally responsible actions, like giving up Styrofoam, are always more expensive than alternatives. Other actions, like phasing in LEDs, will always save money in the long run, but require an upfront investment.

This is why supporting the restaurants who make the right decisions is so important. Show your love – visit one of our hundred, and counting, members today. Tell them the GDA sent you!
