At this past Wednesday’s Dine-Out Night, the Green Dining Alliance and friends enjoyed delicious happy hour specials and crafting with Perennial at Urban Eats Cafe in the Downtown Dutchtown neighborhood.

Urban Eats Cafe offered up complimentary edamame appetizers, as well as discounted prices on their selects mall plates and appetizers (we couldn’t resist the $5 sweet and spicy goat cheese flatbread). Jenny Murphy, Founder and Director of Perennial, facilitated the night’s reMAKE activity… all while enjoying a house-infused rosemary gin cocktail.

The reMAKE craft was perfect for green dining enthusiasts: a booklet for storing take-out menus and places to try. Using kitchy old cook books, scrap paper, glue and just a few tools, crafters were able to create adorable, vintage-style booklets in just about ten minutes’ time. Murphy said she intended to keep all GDA-certified restaurants in her booklet, and GDA Program Coordinator Olivia brought one back to the St. Louis Earth Day office for storing nearby take-out menus.

The GDA organizes Dine-Outs at GDA-certified restaurants every first or second Thursday of the month. See our Calendar for upcoming locations, and let us know if you want to host your own green dinner! And many thanks to Perennial for partnering with us!
