Jillsie’s Bistro in Hermann achieves 4-star certification.

“If we don’t reuse it, we recycle it,” Jillsie herself.

Just a few steps from the Missouri River, Jillsie’s is located in historic downtown Hermann.

Jillsie’s Bistro & Boutique in Hermann is a truly local place with a very comfortable atmosphere. Enjoy home-made breads, desserts and pastries, locally sourced meats, a full bar with local wines and beer, free wifi, and all from the heart of a historic district.

Here is a short list of just some of the local items you can enjoy at Jillsie’s:

  • Missouri wine
    • all within 10 miles
  • Locally brewed beer
    • located one block away
  • Meat from local farms and hunters
  • Eggs from a local farm
    • 5 miles up road
  • Homemade ice-cream onsite
    • Goes great with locally produced Calvin’s root beer, less than 10 miles away.
  • Homemade baked goods onsite

Hermann Wurst Haus uses non-GMO, carrot-based binder for its sausage… yum!

Jillsie’s is the type of home-made sustainability you love to see, especially in a setting like rural Missouri. They grow their own veggies and herbs onsite, homemake non-toxic cleaners for all uses, manage their own composting, and “drive the car about twice a month — once is to drop off our recycling at the sorting center up the street.” They’ve even received an award from the Ozarks Solid Waste Management District for their waste reduction and diversion efforts.

An educational display in bistro’s dinning room window explains the impact of recycling.
