JUICEMASTERS serves delicious fresh-squeezed juices, fruit smoothies, and fresh brewed coffee from Northwest Coffee Roasting Company. Juicemasters sources a significant amount of their produce – especially local apples during the growing season – from the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market, Double Star Farms, wheat grass from Tony’s Farms, and other fresh fruits and vegetables from Independent Fruit and Produce Co.

Juicemasters’ fruit rinds and kale stems don’t wind up in the trash.  They are given a separate life as food for owner Corey Logan’s chickens and as compost in several neighborhood gardens. This keeps organic material out of the landfill – important because organic material decomposes anaerobically in a landfill, creating methane gas – a greenhouse gas with over 80 times the warming potential of CO2.

Like all GDA certified restaurants, Juicemasters never uses Styrofoam – but they have never used the toxic product, even before joining the GDA, because owner Corey Logan thinks it “looks cheap.” He wanted people to see his brightly colored juices and smoothies, so he uses a more expensive, but attractive, recyclable product.

Logan is active and passionate about bringing health and wellness to our communities providing healthy, affordable, environmentally responsible smoothies and juices to those in need. He has been known to visit underserved neighborhoods and lower his prices for the neighborhood kids. As former substitute teacher, his connection to St. Louis schools runs deep and he loves to give back whenever he can. He studies the benefits and science of juicing and healthy living in his spare time; read his thoughts on the JuiceMasters’ blog.

Check out the Juicemasters’ website for health education initiatives such as Drink the Rainbow Juice Feast and other juice cleansing programs. They’ve recently shifted to a focus on online orders and a discounted subscription service but don’t forget to keep an eye out for their food truck at events and farmers’ markets all around St. Louis City and County. Treat yourself to a healthy juice and support both your immune system and the local food system!
