THE CROW’S NEST, located in the center of Maplewood’s Green Dining District, serves American fare and local beers in a cool setting, with church pew seating, arcade game and skeeball, and great music.

Everything inside is re-purposed – even the menus are made from old record covers! They’ve installed all LED lighting, they use ceiling fans, and they have installed a new HVAC system to reduce energy use. They keep hard-to-recycle, toxic items like old light bulbs, electronics, and batteries out of the landfill, taking them to recycling drives instead. Recently, The Crow’s Nest has moved to a straws-on-request policy, eliminating the use of thousands of single-use plastic items per year.

They source their bread from Companion Bakery, but nearly everything else in their kitchen is made from scratch, including vegan chili, veggie burgers, and vegan burgers for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint by eating less red meat.

Owners Eliza and Kenny show love for their customers through humor, sarcasm, and tasty beverages. Their slogan is “come see what everyone is complaining about,” which is plastered across their t-shirts and their sandwich boards.  Their tongue-and-cheek humor permeates their menu, with drinks named “Don’t Make Me Cuke” and “I Hate the Bartender.”

Drop in for veggie burger, fries, and a locally brewed beer from Civil Life, Schlafly, or 4 Hands, or come by on Saturday or Sunday for their famous Heavy Metal Brunch!
