Le Rose Thai is one of St. Louis’ newer event vendors and caterers and the latest addition to the Green Dining Alliance. Owner Mai and her family run the festival-focused food truck from April to November, bringing Thai street food to the masses.
Mai is very conscious of doing what’s right for the environment. She wastes very little, turning chicken and shrimp scraps into stocks, sauces and filling for her delicious dumplings and spring rolls. She grows her own basil and hopes to have a bumper crop of Thai chilis this year.
Le Rose Thai is committed to maintaining a clean event and loves seeing her area spotless after a big festival day. She puts in extra effort to recycle properly even when the event doesn’t offer on-site recycling. Mai is committed to using sustainable packaging and as little plastic as possible. To limit food waste she’ll offer discounted foods at the end of the event or donate the rest and Le Rose Thai is careful about portion sizes and preparation.
Find Le Rose Thai at various locations throughout the area, including Pride Fest, Festival of Nations, St. Charles’ Riverfest and Greentree in Kirkwood. Her handmade spring rolls, shrimp Pad Thai and butterfly tea are a must try for anyone who loves Thai cuisine.
